- July 27, 1995 - Chris Pronger traded to the St. Louis Blues for Brendan Shanahan.
- October 6, 1995 - Darren Turcotte traded to the Winnipeg Jets for Nelson Emerson.
- November 29, 1995 - Jeff Reese traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Tampa's 1996 ninth round draft pick (Ashkat Rakhmatulin).
- December 16, 1995 - Jocelyn Lemieux and Hartford's 1998 second round draft pick (later traded to Dallas who selects John Erskine) traded to the New Jersey Devils for Jim Dowd and New Jersey's 1997 second round draft pick (later traded to Calgary who selects Dmitry Kokorev).
- December 16, 1995 - Frantisek Kucera, Jim Dowd, and Hartford's 1997 second round draft pick (Ryan Bonni) traded to the Vancouver Canucks for Jeff Brown and Vancouver's 1998 third round draft pick (later traded to Calgary who selects Paul Manning).
- December 28, 1995 - Future considerations traded to the Philadelphia Flyers for Kevin Dineen. Hartford later sends their 1997 seventh round draft pick (later traded back to Hartford - Carolina selects Andrew Merrick) to Philadelphia to complete the deal.
