The 18th season of the television series Arthur premiered on September 29, 2014 on PBS[1] and comprised 10 episodes. William Healy replaces Drew Adkins as Arthur, Andrew Dayton replaces Jake Beale as D.W., and Max Friedman Cole replaces Siam Yu as Brain.

The Friend Who Wasn't There: When Muffy hears D.W. talking to Nadine, she explains this to the gang, and Arthur says that Nadine is only D.W.'s imaginary friend. Muffy and her friends talk about their imaginary friends. Buster has 5, excluding one of them mentioned in "Read and Flumberghast", Arthur replies his bear Stanley was his imaginary friend, and Francine's imaginary friend was an alligator who always told mean stories about Catherine, Francine's older sister. Muffy searches for her imaginary friend, and the episode focuses on her imagination until Bailey comes, and the name is revealed to be Waldo. Surprise!: Francine is un-invited to Catherine's 16th birthday party and she and the gang try to come up with flaws to make it the worst party ever. The episode focuses on Francine, who opens her heart about everything mean Catherine has done. Her flaw is to sneak in during the party and takes Catherine's diary and explains it to the whole party! Then Francine makes it sound like she didn't mean it. Except that it was fake. The real plan was to tease Catherine, who is angry enough to chase her and Francine out of the party after the teasing. | |||||

The Case of the Girl With the Long Face: George is concerned about Fern when she falls into a state of sadness, but doesn't know why; wanting to get to the bottom of the mystery, he enlists Buster Baxter, Private Eye. to investigate. After following the case, and coming to a number of dead-ends (such as a little spat Fern had with Muffy over wearing a lavendar hair bow, or jogging in the rain with Binky), the two finally learn that Fern was feeling sad, for no reason, and that she goes through sad spells from time to time, but it's during those sad spells that she's able to really dig deeper into her imagination for more story ideas. The Substitute Arthur: Arthur is going away to spend a weekend birdwatching with his uncle, much to Buster's horror. After cramming in as many activities as they can before Friday, Buster falls into a state of depression with Arthur gone, though his mother suggests he play with his other friends. Buster tries playing a board game with Brain, tennis with Francine, and goes shopping with Muffy, however, Buster is so deep into his mindset of how he and Arthur do things, that the others find him difficult to play with. After seeing what's become of him while trying to play with D.W. (who also wants to do things her own way), Buster realizes that he should try new things. | |||||

The Tattletale Frog: Bud Compson continuously wins against D.W., so she suggests a game called Throw the Hat, in which she accidentally breaks Dad's Froggy. So D.W. tries to hide it, and finds a hiding place in the cabinet. When D.W. got back to her room, Bud suggests getting his hat down. D.W. tries, but with no success. D.W. and Bud try to get a ladder upstairs, but they were caught by Dad. He tries to scold D.W., but was interrupted by a phone call. Then D.W. sees Mom and tries to distract her, but Mom catches her. D.W. shows her the mess and manages to cover it up. But then she felt guilty and confessed. Later, she called Bud on the phone to tell him that she's staying home for a week as her punishment for breaking Dad's Froggy. Bud understands and they play rock-paper-scissors with D.W. winning as the episode ends. D.W. & Bud's Higher Purpose: Dad takes Arthur, D.W., Ladonna, and Bud to the amusement park. D.W. and Bud want to ride the Buzzard, but there's a ticket taker who wouldn't let them because they're too short. They try to get there, but to no success. That's when they find out from James that it's scary. They break the pact, and eventually, they get off the ride. All this time, Dad has been giving out advice to Mr. Crosswire on the phone. | |||||

Best Wishes: After wishes for snow and cupcakes come true, Buster, Francine, and Binky are convinced that George has Wish Mojo, and put him under incredible pressure to use his new Wish Mojo to wish for even more snow - specifically, "School-closing snow." The pressure becomes too much for George to handle, so when he's put to task, he quietly wishes that everybody will simply have a good year. A big snow day comes, and when George reveals what his wish really was, the others realize it was wrong of them to put him under so much pressure. The Tardy Tumbler: Prunella helps Marina make the gymnastics team at school, and in doing so, she makes the team too, though when she learns that class is before school starts, she struggles with trying to get up early enough to be there to support Marina. After realizing her heart isn't into gymnastics, Prunella drops out of the class, but later also realizes that she cares about Marina doing well, so she instead becomes Marina's coach, and in doing so, helps her conquer her fear of the uneven bar. | |||||

Fountain Abbey: Muffy is sad to discover that one of her ancestors worked as a maid for one of Binky's ancestors - a lord. Upon further investigation, Muffy finds out how that maid got promoted to a business manager. Arthur Calls It: Arthur is umpiring a baseball game against Mighty Mountain, and he has to decide whether or not Buster properly scored a home run. Arthur decides that Buster did not, but all his friends disagree. At the end, his friends decide to honour his call. | |||||

Foreword: Arthur imagines what it would be like to have two dads like a Tamarin monkey, for Thora, his mom and DW to take care of Kate together like elephants, or to be fed pudding and beef stroganoff and a cocktail weeny by non-family like Arabian babblers. Whip. Mix. Blend: When Rattles' mom is invited to stay at her lover Archie Vanderloo's house for a weekend, Rattles must learn to get along with his two kids, neither of which have any resemblance to Rattles in terms of interests. Staycation: D.W camps out in the backyard and learns that doing such a thing can be an adventure in its own right. | |||||

Two Minutes: Timmy is outraged when he discovers Tommy was born two minutes before he was, leading to a power shift in the Tibble Household, with Tommy acting like a superior to Timmy. However, Timmy, angered by his brother's behavior, calls on D.W, an expert older brother tamer to put Tommy in his place. Messy Dress Mess: Ladonna is cast an important role in an upcoming school musical, and Muffy lends her a dress for the rehearsal, but she ruins it by accidentally sitting on a bench with wet paint, and feels that Muffy will abandon her as a friend. | |||||

Arthur Read, Super Saver: After hearing a slideshow on the Great Depression, Arthur begins to worry about the amount of money his family seems to be wasting through usage of water, electricity and lawn mowers. Tibbles to The Rescue: D.W saves Tommy and Timmy from a fall, and they decide to repay her involuntarily, much to D.W's annoyance. | |||||

The Pageant Pickle: Arthur is embarrassed about having to go see D.W's spring pageant, which he believes to be a waste of time. However, D.W questions the simplistic style of the pageant while rehearsing it and writes a poem to contribute, and tricks Arthur into performing in it. Some Assembly Required: D.W is waiting for her new playground to be built, and all she has to play with is the box that it came in. However, with the aid of their imaginations, she, Bud and Emily see the box as spacecraft, and they journey to a distant planet, where they encounter strange creatures of many varieties. | |||||
