The Rayat Institute of Engineering and Information Technology (RIEIT) (Hindi: रयात अभियांत्रिकी एवं सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान) is an academic, engineering institution, affiliated to Punjab Technical University, offering Engineering Courses at undergraduate and Graduate level, leading to B.Tech and M.Tech degrees. Also offers doctoral study centres.
RIEIT is part of the Rayat Bhara Group of Institutes, and being the most premier Campus,^[1] among other 7 Campuses of Rayat Bahra Group of Institutes, which includes two Universities, a center of excellence. RIEIT boasts of being part of the best campus amongst all the campuses. To recall, Ropar Campus was chosen as the best campus of RBGI in an award function held on 22 May 2014 held at Hotel Shivalik View, Chandigarh in a ceremonial and glittering function. The Award was presented by RBGI Chairman Mr Gurvinder Singh Bahra.

Administrative Block

Rayat Institute of Engineering and Information Technology (Estd. 2001).^[2] offers five B.Tech. Programmes in the areas of Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Subsequently M.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering were added, all affiliated to the Punjab Technical University. It occupies an area of 250 acres (1.0 km²). The courses offered by the institute are approved by AICTE. RIEIT is vertically integrated with a X+2 non-medical school providing quality education, and offers outreach to different schools in the district supporting science education. The RIEIT also houses a polytechnic college, leading to Diploma in engineering. In the campus B.Pharmacy program, M.Pharma in different specialisations (viz. Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical chemistry) are also being offered. The Institute is situated within the Rayat Technology Centre of Excellence, Ropar, and is located 6 km from Ropar city on Chandigarh-Ropar-Jalandhar Highway.

The aesthetic environmentally friendly campus extends over 250 acres (1.0 km²), close to the Shivalik hills. The campus is divided into zones for hostels, Main College Buildings, Administration Block, Residential Complex, etc.

Admissions to Bachelor of Engineering courses are made through the:
- Punjab Technical University (for students belongs to Punjab through PTU Central Counseling. Candidates admitted through this counseling get some advantages.
- based on AIEEE Score (conducted by All India Engineering Entrance Examination)
- Also available to other states or internationally.
- reservation of seats for the students of other states to be admitted through All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE).

Silicon India Ranked Rayat Institute of Engineering and Information Technology as Top ranked engineering College in Punjab and 28th in India for Mechanical Engineering.^[3]

Minerva

Minerva^[4] is a national level annual cultural and technical symposium organized by students of the Rayat Institute of Engineering and Information Technology. Considered to be one of the biggest college festivals of North India, it attracts many students from colleges across north India. Events include quizzes, workshops, game shows, informal events, fashion show, dance show and rock night.^[5]

Alumni Association

Rayat Old Student Association(RIEITos)^[6] is a non profit, non political organization of former graduates and former faculty members(hereafter collectively referred to as the Alumni) of RIEIT, Ropar campus. RIEITos aims to engage in educational (for Life Long Learning), social, and other activities that promote esprit-de-corps, including the promotion of educational objectives of the Alumni, students and faculty of RIEIT, Ropar.

RIEITians aims to provide a forum for exchange and interaction between the Alumni of RIEIT and the students, faculty, and friends of RIEIT, fostering international friendship and understanding.
