The 2015–16 season was Kilmarnock's third season in the Scottish Premiership and their 23rd consecutive appearance in the top flight of Scottish football. Kilmarnock also competed in the League Cup where they were knocked out in the third round after losing 3-2 to Hearts and the Scottish Cup where they were beaten 2-1 by Rangers in a Fifth Round replay. Kilmarnock rounded off the season by beating Falkirk 4-1 on aggregate in the Premiership play-off final to secure top flight status for the 2016–17 season
